PLANNING COMMISSION
City of Pleasanton
RESOLUTION N0. 1262
A resolution of the Planning Commission of the City of
Pleasanton advising the City Council of their opposi-
tions and concerns to any further expansions of the
Livermore Airport as it relates to increased air
traffic.
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has learned that the Livermore
Airport is currently installing new traffic control
devices within the Livermore Airport property, and,
WHEREAS, based on said improvements, it is the Planning Commission's
concern as to whether this new equipment is needed to
serve the type of aircraft presently utilizing this
airport.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Planning Commission of the City
of Pleasanton is not apposed to any new improvements
that would benefit the safety of the present aircraft
now using the airport, but is opposed to any improve-
ments which would indicate that larger type aircraft
would be encouraged or permitted by said improvements.
Further, it is the Planning Commission's opposition to
any improvements in [he Livermore Airport which would
signal- the advent of increased traffic.
In addition to the above previous position of the
Planning Commission, the following findings are recommended
1. No approach pattern is allowed which would bring
any aircraft below 2,000 feet msl over any residential,
hospital, school or public building, constructed or
planned within the planning area of the City of
Pleasanton.
2. That no approach patterns be approved nor air
traffic allowed which would be in conflict with the
noise elements of the General Plan of Livermore,
Pleasanton or Alameda County.
3. No land be acquired which could, in the future,
allow expansion of the existing facilities.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Planning Commission of the City of Pleasanton
on the 10th day of October, 1973, by the following vote:
Ayes: Commissioners McLain, Pereira,
Wood and Chairman Pons
Noes:
Absent: Conmtissioner Carrigan
Abstain:
Attest: Secretary Castro
Date: October 10, 197~C~~~~',"'-^^-'
-~
Attest~~' ,~~
Ricardo Castro, retary Euge D.
