City of Pleasanton June 29, 1987 200 Old Bernal Avenue Proposal 87-0z~5 Pleasanton, California 9/~566 Exhibit "A" Attention: Mr. Jim Schachner Public Works Inspector Gentlemen: EN~IhI=FRING OBSERVATIONS DURING CONSTRUCTION ST~IDGE DRIVE: COfIXECTION WEST LAS POSITAS BOULEVARD TO SANTA RITA ROAD PLEASANTON, CALIFORNIA As you have requested, we are submitting the proposal to provide engineering observations and associated testing during the construction of the Stoneridge Drive Connection between Las Positas Boulevard and Santa Rita Road in Pleasanton. This proposal is submitted as a joint- venture team between Merrill, Seeley~ Mullen, Sandefur~ Inc. and Signet Testing Labs with James R. Mullen as Project Manager. We feel that this team approach for engineering observation services should provide the City of Pleasanton with services for all facets of this project. Merrill, SeeIcy, Mullen, Sandefur~ Inc. will provide the engineering observations and associated testing du~-~ng earthwork operationst asphalt concrete placement and pile driving operations. We will also provide the administrative management of engineering observation and testing services for the project. Signet Testing Labs will provide the field observations and associated field and laboratory testing for concretet steel and mortar placement. They will also provide form and false-work inspection when requested by the City of Pleasanton. A detailed scope of services and cost estimates are presented in subsequent sections of this proposal. All construction services will be coordinated with and provided when requested by the City of Pleasanton representatives. A single invoicing system, billed on a monthly basis, will be used for all engineering services. Each firm will provide their own independent insurance coverage, including general liability, workrnan's compensation and E & 0 insurance.
