CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 87-270 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION APPROVING THE APPLICATION OF PUBLIC STORAGE, <br /> INC. AND SOUTHERN PACIFIC TRANSPORTATION COMPANY FOR A <br /> GENERAL PLAN AMENDMENT TO CHANGE THE LAND USE ELEMENT <br /> DESIGNATION FOR TWO SITES LOCATED AT THE NORTHWEST AND <br /> NORTHEAST CORNERS OF THE INTERSECTION OF VALLEY AVENUE <br /> AND STANLEY BOULEVARD FROM "PUBLIC HEALTH AND SAFETY" TO <br /> "GENERAL AND LIMITED INDUSTRIAL" (GP-87-3) <br /> <br />WHEREAS, at its meeting of June 16, 1987, the City Council <br /> received the application of Public Storage, Inc. and <br /> Southern pacific Transportation Company for a General <br /> Plan amendment to change the land use designation of two <br /> sites (1.47 acres and 4.2 acres) located at the <br /> northwest and northeast corners of the intersection of <br /> Valley Avenue (extension) and Stanley Boulevard <br /> (GP-87-3); and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has held a public hearing on the <br /> proposed change and has recommended approval; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council determined that a Negative Declaration <br /> was appropriate for the proposed General Plan Amendment <br /> and adopted Resolution No. 87-269 approving the Negative <br /> Declaration; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a duly noticed public hearing was held at which time any <br /> member of the public was offered the opportunity to <br /> address the City Council on the proposed amendment; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council desires to make comprehensive changes <br /> to the Land Use Element of the General Plan at this time <br /> as one of the four times during the calendar year such <br /> changes may be made; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: Approves the application of Public Storage, Inc. and <br /> Southern Pacific Transportation Company to amend the <br /> Land Use Element designation of the General Plan for two <br /> sites, approximately 1.47 and 4.2 acres, located at the <br /> northwest and northeast corners of the intersection of <br /> Valley Avenue (extension) and Stanley Boulevard, from <br /> "Public Health and Safety" to "General and Limited <br /> Industrial" (GP-87-3). <br /> <br />Section 2: This resolution shall become effective immediately <br /> upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br /> <br />
