CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 87-269 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION APPROVING A NEGATIVE DECLARATION FOR THE <br /> APPLICATION OF PUBLIC STORAGE, INC. AND SOUTHERN PACIFIC <br /> TRANSPORTATION COMPANY FOR A GENERAL PLAN AMENDMENT TO <br /> THE LAND USE ELEMENT (GP-8?-3) AND FOR REZONING OF TWO <br /> SITES LOCATED AT THE NORTHWEST AND NORTHEAST CORNERS OF <br /> THE INTERSECTION OF VALLEY AVENUE AND STANLEY BOULEVARD <br /> TO THE I-P (INDUSTRIAL PARK) DISTRICT (RZ-87-3) <br /> <br />WHEREAS, at its meeting of June 16, 1987, the City Council <br /> received a proposed negative declaration for the <br /> application of Public Storage, Inc. and Southern Pacific <br /> Transportation Company for an amendment to the Land Use <br /> Element of the General Plan designation of two two <br /> sites, 1.47 acres and 4.2 acres, located at the <br /> northwest and northeast corners of the intersection of <br /> Valley Avenue (extension) and Stanley Boulevard to <br /> change from "Public Health and Safety" to "General and <br /> Limited Industrial" (GP-87-3) and to rezone these sites <br /> to the I-P (Industrial Park) District (RZ-87-3); and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council has received and reviewed the Initial <br /> Study dated May 20, 1987 and received the <br /> recommendations of the staff and Planning Commission; <br /> and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a duly noticed public hearing was held at which time the <br /> public was given the opportunity to comment on the <br /> environmental impacts of the proposed rezoning; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed the potential impacts in <br /> accordance with the applicable state and local <br /> guidelines governing the preparation of Negative <br /> Declarations and Environmental Impact Reports; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the proposed General Plan <br /> amendment and rezoning would not have any significant <br /> adverse effects on the environment: <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: Approves the Negative Declaration for the application <br /> of Public Storage, Inc. and Southern Pacific <br /> Transportation Company for an amendment to the Land Use <br /> Element designation of the General Plan for two sites, <br /> 1.47 acres and 4.2 acres, located at the northwest and <br /> northeast corners of the intersection of Valley Avenue <br /> (extension) and Stanley Boulevard to change from "Public <br /> Health and Safety" to "General and Limited Industrial" <br /> <br /> <br />
