CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 87-239 <br /> <br /> REVIEW OF BIDS AND AWARD OF CONTRACT TO BARRY SWENSON <br /> BUILDER, FOR CONSTRUCTION OF THE GEORGE A. <br /> SPILIOTOPOULOS LIBRARY <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City prepared plans and specifications for the <br /> George A. Spiliotopoulos Library; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Government Code Section 37900, et seq., the <br /> City Engineering Services Division advertised for bids <br /> regarding this project; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, bids were reviewed by the City Council on June 2, 1987; <br /> and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the bid of Barry Swenson Builder, in the amount of <br /> $3,391,000 was determined to be the lowest responsible <br /> bid; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works and Utilities recommended <br /> that the bid of Barry Swenson Builder be accepted; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: The bid of Barry Swenson Builder, in the amount of <br /> $3,391,000, for construction of the George A. <br /> Spiliotopoulos Library, is hereby accepted by the City <br /> Council as the lowest responsible bid. <br /> <br />Section 2: The Mayor is authorized to execute a contract with <br /> for the improvements specified above. <br /> <br />Section 3: This resolution shall become effective immediately <br /> upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br /> <br />
