9. Accepted public improvements for Tracts 7430 and 7432, Ironwood Development <br />(Ponderosa Homes) an authorized filing a notice of completion <br />10. Accepted public improvements performed by Chrisp Company for Annual Traffic Buttons <br />and Line Markers Installation, CIP No. 065007; authorized filing a notice of completion; <br />payment of retention in the amount of $13,577,52 and final payment in the amount of <br />$3,332.69 <br />Motion: It was m/s by Thorne/Sullivan to approve Consent Calendar as submitted and as noted. <br />Ayes: Cook-Kallio, McGovern, Sullivan, Thorne, Mayor Hosterman <br />Noes: None <br />Absent: None <br />Abstain: None <br />MEETING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC <br />11. Proclamation proclaiming October National Domestic Violence Awareness Month <br />Mayor Hosterman proclaimed October as National Domestic Violence Awareness Month, <br />read the proclamation and presented it to Vicky Thompson, Associate Director of Tri- <br />Valley Haven. <br />Vicky Thompson, Associate Director, Tri-Valley Haven, presented statistics on domestic <br />violence calls, described intervention in the way of shelter, counseling, a 24-hour crisis <br />line, no-cost counseling and restraining order clinics, community education, and said they <br />will hold a Candlelight March this Friday on Main Street. <br />12. Business Anniversary Recognition for 20, 25 and 30 years <br />Economic Development Director Pamela Ott announced there were 53 Pleasanton <br />businesses celebrating milestone anniversaries in 2007, achieving 20, 25, 30, 40 and 50 <br />years in service in the City of Pleasanton.. <br />13. Public Comment <br />Fred Norman reminded the Council of the war and of American troops being killed, said 24 <br />American troops have lost their lives in Iraq since the last Council meeting, asked that they not <br />be ignored and questioned how long it would last. <br />Kathy Dowding shared the names of the 43 American soldiers who have died in the last four <br />weeks. <br />Mike Hamilton, addressed the City Council, concerning whether the Mayor can or cannot keep <br />the Falcon. <br />Kay Ayala, advised that she submitted to the <br />"Save Pleasanton's Hills and Housing Cap", <br />uncontrolled growth and the impact it has on <br />supply and an overall quality of life.. <br />City Clerk today a proposed Initiative entitled <br />which is intended to protect the City from <br />ridgelines and hillsides, traffic, schools, water <br />City Council Minutes 3 October 16, 2007 <br />
