c. The in-mask receiver LEDs lights must operate on a on/off cycle. <br />d. The initial display of LED lights must be visible for 24 seconds and off for 24 seconds. <br />Subsequent LED light displays must be visible for a minimum of 12 seconds and off for 30 <br />seconds. <br />e. The HUD shall consist of six (6) LEDs: one red, one amber, two green and a LED for a <br />separate low battery indicator. <br />f. The separate LED shall be for a low battery indicator, one low battery indicator for the in- <br />mask receiver and a low battery indicator for the transducer. <br />g. The HUD shall be designed to fit inside the facepiece without interfering with the user's field <br />of vision. <br />h. The HUD shall be fixed inside the mask by way of a self clamping method that is molded as <br />part of the receiver. <br />i. The HUD shall be installed in the facepiece without the use of tools. <br />j. The HUD shall be interchangeable between facepieces. <br />k. The HUD shall communicate with the transmitter/transducer via inductive loop technology <br />(wireless). <br />1. The HUD and transmitter must operate in the 25-100 KHz frequency range. <br />m. The LEDs in the HUD shall automatically brighten or dim based on environmental <br />conditions. <br />n. The auto-bright feature shall operate via a photocell. <br />o. The transmitter/transducer shall be positioned on the SCBA back plate. <br />p. The transmitter/transducer shall be integrated within the back plate. <br />q. The HUD system shall be NIOSH, NFPA 1981, 2007 edition, UL 913 and FCC Part 15 <br />compliant. <br />11. Warranty <br />a. The SCBA and cylinder shall carry a limited warranty of not less than 15 years. The first <br />stage regulator shall carry a limited warranty of not less than the lifetime of the SCBA, and <br />the HUD, shall carry a limited warranty of not less than one year. Other electronic <br />accessories shall not carry warranties less than one year. <br />III. PROJECT OVERSIGHT <br />This project will be overseen by Fire Chief William Cody. Acting Battalion Chief Peter Richert <br />will act as project manager. <br />IV. PROJECT SCHEDULE <br />a) Vendors shall deliver NFPA 1981, 2002 Edition SCBAs within 30 days from the date of <br />contract award, but not later than December 10, 2007, and thereafter fulfill the training as <br />specified by the Livermore Pleasanton Training Chief Jane Moorehead with in thirty days. <br />The training will require a minimum of three days consisting of A, B, and C Shifts, two sessions <br />each day, 5 engine companies, safety prevention personnel and chief officers. <br />to <br />
