m. The shoulder harness shall be designed with ergonomic body contoured "S" comfort style <br />shoulder pads to maintain its shape and latitude when worn, providing comfort and freedom <br />of movement. The shoulder pads shall be at least 2.5 inches wide and the waist belt padding <br />shall be at least 3.5 inches wide for optimal support. The total length of the waist pad area <br />shall be at least 30 inches. Shoulder and waist belt harnessing shall be independently <br />adjustable. <br />n. Shoulder and waist adjustment friction buckles shall be of stainless steel with a curve inward <br />toward the wearer to eliminate any potential for snagging. <br />o. Adjusting straps of both shoulder and waist shall have a stiffened, 3-4 inches long end grips. <br />p. Each shoulder and waist harness padding shall be easily detached by a quick release button <br />from the back plate for cleaning and disinfection without the use of tools. <br />q. The waist belt shall utilize a metal seat belt style buckle. The waist belt shall allow a quick <br />and easy adjustment (twin pull forward) of the waist belt, even when seated in an apparatus <br />jump seat. <br />r. A locking mechanism shall be used to secure the cylinder strap in place to ensure simple and <br />secure operation. <br />s. The cylinder strap shall accommodate all types and sizes of cylinders without the use of <br />tools. <br />t. The cylinder strap shall be easy to detach from the backplate without the use of tools for <br />cleaning and disinfection. <br />u. The pneumatic system shall be easy to detach from the backplate and harness. <br />v. Hoses shall be routed under the back plate to eliminate snag potential. <br />w: Hoses going over the shoulder shall be covered by a protective hose sleeve. <br />6. Cylinder and Valve Assembly <br />a. Cylinders shall be available in the following configurations: 30, 45 or 60 minute 4500 psi <br />Carbon Fiber cylinder. <br />b. The volume of the 30-minute cylinder shall be approximately 45 cubic feet when filled to <br />4500 psig pressure and shall conform to DOT exemption numbers. <br />c. The volume of the 45-minute cylinder shall be approximately 66 cubic feet when filled to <br />4500 psig pressure and shall conform to DOT exemption numbers. <br />d. The volume of the 60-minute cylinder shall be approximately 87 cubic feet when filled to <br />4500 psig pressure and shall conform to DOT exemption numbers. <br />e. The Cylinder valve shall contain a closing valve, which incorporates a pressure gauge to <br />indicate the cylinder pressure at all times. <br />f. The Cylinder shall be either anall-aluminum, fully wrapped or a hoped wrapped design. <br />Wrapped cylinders shall be constructed of a deep drawn, seamless aluminum liner wound <br />with carbon filaments impregnated with epoxy resin. <br />g. The cylinders shall have reflective markings for ease of visibility. <br />h. The cylinders shall be imprinted with the Livermore-Pleasanton Custom Logo. <br />i. The cylinder valve shall be fitted with a luminous boldface dial-type gauge with protective <br />guards. <br />j. The Cylinder valve shall conform to the Compressed Gas Association (CGA) standard for <br />threaded connection number 347. <br />
