CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 87-371 <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION OF 8UPPORT FOR THE CALIFORNIA GOVERNOR'S <br /> COMMITTEE FOR EMPLOYMENT OF THE HANDICAPPED AND <br /> WELCOMING THE OPPORTUNITY TO HOST THE FORTHCOMING <br /> QUARTERLY MEETING <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the California Governor's Committee for Employment of <br /> the Handicapped is a voluntary public-private sector <br /> partnership which advises the Governor's office on <br /> various disability-related employment issues, provides <br /> technical assistance to employers and employees, <br /> develops and disseminates pubic education materials and <br /> coordinates special programs to eliminate various <br /> barriers which preclude equal consideration for <br /> employment; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the quarterly meetings are held in varying statewide <br /> locations to conduct committee business and to exchange <br /> information; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: The City Council of Pleasanton wishes to express its <br /> whole-hearted support of the Governor's Committee for <br /> Employment of the Handicapped and its valuable <br /> contribution to enhancing the quality of life for the <br /> disabled. <br /> <br />Section 2: The City Council welcomes the opportunity to serve as <br /> the host city for the October 29-30, 1987 quarterly <br /> meeting. <br /> <br />Section 3: This resolution shall become effective immediately <br /> upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br />THIS RESOLUTION ADOPTED AUGUST 18, 1987 BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE: <br /> <br />AYES: Councilmembers - Brandes, Butler, Mohr, Wilson and Mayor <br /> Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />ABSTAIN: None ~~~ <br />ATTEST: <br /> K~N~TH R.
