Application Verification <br />Community of Character Declaration <br />I attest that the information contained in this FY 2008/09 City Grant application is accurate and <br />that the funds requested will not supplant any other monies secured by the agency. I further agree <br />that the agency will abide by the precepts of the "Community of Character" as stated below. <br />Attached is a resolution, letter, or other document providing evidence that the Board of Directors <br />approved the application as submitted, and endorses the precepts of the "Community of <br />Character." <br />Signatures: <br />Executive Director <br />Board President/Chairperson <br />Date <br />Date <br />Community of Character Principles <br />The City Council and the Pleasanton Unified <br />School District Board of Trustees adopted <br />the Youth Master Plan of Pleasanton <br />(YMPP) in spring 2001. One of the major <br />themes of the Plan is "Community of <br />Character". Character is the nature of a <br />person with the courage to care about doing <br />the right thing regardless of pressures and <br />conflicts -being able to choose right over <br />wrong, especially in complex situations)." <br />The concept seeks to promulgate a series of <br />precepts than can be utilized in all aspects of <br />public discourse and activity. The precepts <br />include: <br />^ Integrity <br />^ Honesty <br />^ Responsibility <br />^ Respect <br />^ Compassion <br />^ Self-Discipline <br />Each applicant agency is being asked to <br />endorse and abide by these principles by <br />signing this declaration. <br />
