PLANNING COMMISSION Pleasanton, California RESOLUTION N0. 1009 A resolution of the Planning Commission of the City of Pleasanton recommending to the City Council the adoption of General Plan Amendment No. 70-3, filed by the Planning Commission. WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Pleasanton has considered a General Plan Amendment to reclassify the ultimate improvements for Foothill Road between Bernal Avenue and Verona Road, WHEREAS, said Commission has held a public hearing on this amendment and has examined the pertinent maps, drawings and documents and finds that the following conditions do exist: 1. That the proposed amendment will not be contrary to the spirit and intent of the General Plan, 2. That the proposed amendment is in the public interest and general welfare, 3. That the proposed amendment creates a more equitable condition for the community than now prevails. 4 That upon inspection of the traffic studies produced by Livingston 6 Blayney, it has been established that a two-lane road will suffice for the area in question, NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Planning Commission of the City of Pleasanton hereby recommends to the City Council the adoption of an ordinance reclassifying said alignment from a four-lane thoroughfare to a two-lane thoroughfare; subject to the following conditions: 1) That the area south of Bernal Avenue to Verona Road be established as a scenic, rural, two-lane thoroughfare, with the possibility of left-turn median lanes if needed only; 2) That the area south of West Las Positas Boulevard to Bernal Avenue, if at all possible, be also maintained under the same status; 3) That said precise amendment not be officially adopted by the City Council until such time as a specific recommendation has been forwarded by the Department of Planning and Public Works relative to a physical design for the right-of-way in question.
