PLANNING COMMISSION
Pleasanton, California
RESOLUTION N0. 1063
A resolution of the Planning Commission recaomeading to
the City Council the approval of GP-70-5, Vintage Hills
Study.
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has considered said application
to review and/or amend the General Plan for that area
generally encompassing the following two areas;
1. The Vintage Hills Shopping Center site fronting Pico
Avenue containing 14.4 ac., more or less, described as
Lot 26, Tract 2802,
2. The Commercial Preeway District fronting Vineyard
Avenue containing 5 ac., more or less, described as
Lots 563 and 564, Tract 2980.
Said General Plan review is to reevaluate the existing
zoning that is now applicable to those properties within
the City Limits, as well as to reevaluate the land use
recommendations offered by the General Plan.
WHEREAS, said Commission has held a Public Hearing on this
matter and has examined the pertinent maps, drawings
and documents and finds that the following conditions
do exist:
1. That the proposed amendment will not be contrary to
the spirit and intent of the General Plan,
2. That the proposed amendment is in the public interest
and general welfare,
3. That the proposed amendment creates a more equitable
condition for the community than now prevails.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Planning Commission of the City of
Pleasanton hereby recommends to the City Council the
modification of GP-70-5, reducing the commercial shopping
center to 5 acres, with the remainder of 9 acres to be
placed in the Multiple designation; and excluding those
parcels lying south of Vineyard Avenue, retaining them in
the Multiple classification, as presently noted on the
General Plan.
The Commission would also like to emphasize to Council
that it recognizes that there may be a future need for
additional commercial within the Vintage Hills area, and
this need should be considered as the need develops.
