CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 87-559 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION DENYING APPLICATION OF ALEX SPOTORNO FOR AN <br /> AMENDMENT TO THE LAND USE ELEMENT DESIGNATION OF THE <br /> GENERAL PLAN OF AN APPROXIMATELY 145 ACRE SITE LOCATED <br /> GENERALLY IN THE AREA NORTHEAST OF THE INTERSECTION OF <br /> ALISAL STREET AND HAPPY VALLEY ROAD FROM "PUBLIC HEALTH <br /> AND SAFETY" TO "LOW DENSITY RESIDENTIAL" (GP-87-4) <br /> <br />WHEREAS, at its meeting of December 15, 1987, the City Council <br /> reviewed the application of Alex Spotorno to amend the <br /> Land Use Element designation of the General Plan of <br /> approximately 145 acres of the 160 acre site located <br /> generally in the area northeast of the intersection of <br /> Alisal Street and Happy Valley Road from Public Health <br /> and Safety to Low Density Residential or any other land <br /> designation deemed in the public interest; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, at its meeting of August 26, 1987, the Planning held a <br /> public hearing and recommended approval of the <br /> application; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a duly noticed public hearing was held before the city <br /> Council at which time any member of the public was <br /> offered the opportunity to address the City Council on <br /> said amendment; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, there was considerable concern about preserving the <br /> rural atmosphere of the area as well as traffic and <br /> water problems in the Happy Valley area; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: Council hereby denies the application of Alex <br />Spotorno to amend the Land Use Element designation of <br />the General Plan of approximately 145 acres of the 160 <br /> acre site located generally in the area northeast of the <br /> intersection of Alisal Street and Happy Valley Road from <br /> Public Health and Safety to Rural Density Residential <br /> (GP-87-4). <br /> <br /> <br />
