MINUTES <br />CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />August 21, 2007 <br />CALL TO ORDER <br />Mayor Hosterman called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Councilmember McGovern led the <br />Pledge of Allegiance. <br />Closed Session <br />City Attorney Michael Roush reported from Closed Session that the City Council gave direction <br />to the City Manager to bring back to Council a purchase agreement concerning the price and <br />terms of payment with respect to the Alameda County Transportation Corridor property with a <br />tentative date of September 4, 2007. <br />Introductory Comments <br />Councilmember McGovern reported on the following events: The Good Guys West Coast <br />National Car Show is back in its 20"' year; the Annual Scottish Highland Games, hosted by the <br />San Francisco Caledonian Club kicks off August 31$`; The City's Rides to Schools Program is a <br />combined effort with the City and the Pleasanton Unified School District and assists Pleasanton <br />families with school-related transportation. <br />Roll Call <br />Present: Councilmembers Cook-Kallio, McGovern, Sullivan, Thorne, Mayor Hosterman <br />Absent: None <br />AGENDA AMENDMENTS <br />Mayor Hosterman recommended moving up Item 17 on the agenda due to the number of <br />speakers present, and the Council agreed. City Manager Fialho reported Item 14 was being <br />removed and would be re-scheduled for September 4, 2007. <br />Councilmember McGovern requested Item 2 be placed on the regular agenda and Council <br />agreed. Councilmember Thorne thanked citizens who participated in designing the Downtown <br />Arts Plan. <br />CONSENT CALENDAR <br />Kay Ayala requested Items 2 and 18 be removed for comment and acknowledged Item 18 was <br />on the regular Consent Calendar. <br />Administrative Services <br />1. Authorized the City Manager to execute a contract for Innovative Claim Solutions Inc., to <br />provide third-party administration of Workers' Compensation claims <br />City Manager <br />2. Pulled and moved to the regular agenda -Waive second reading and adopt Ordinance <br />No. 1957 amending Section 2.04.020 of the Municipal Code concerning salaries for the <br />Mayor and Councilmembers <br />
