MINUTES CITY OF PLEASANTON CITY COUNCIL MEETING August 21, 2007 CALL TO ORDER Mayor Hosterman called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Councilmember McGovern led the Pledge of Allegiance. Closed Session City Attorney Michael Roush reported from Closed Session that the City Council gave direction to the City Manager to bring back to Council a purchase agreement concerning the price and terms of payment with respect to the Alameda County Transportation Corridor property with a tentative date of September 4, 2007. Introductory Comments Councilmember McGovern reported on the following events: The Good Guys West Coast National Car Show is back in its 20"' year; the Annual Scottish Highland Games, hosted by the San Francisco Caledonian Club kicks off August 31$`; The City's Rides to Schools Program is a combined effort with the City and the Pleasanton Unified School District and assists Pleasanton families with school-related transportation. Roll Call Present: Councilmembers Cook-Kallio, McGovern, Sullivan, Thorne, Mayor Hosterman Absent: None AGENDA AMENDMENTS Mayor Hosterman recommended moving up Item 17 on the agenda due to the number of speakers present, and the Council agreed. City Manager Fialho reported Item 14 was being removed and would be re-scheduled for September 4, 2007. Councilmember McGovern requested Item 2 be placed on the regular agenda and Council agreed. Councilmember Thorne thanked citizens who participated in designing the Downtown Arts Plan. CONSENT CALENDAR Kay Ayala requested Items 2 and 18 be removed for comment and acknowledged Item 18 was on the regular Consent Calendar. Administrative Services 1. Authorized the City Manager to execute a contract for Innovative Claim Solutions Inc., to provide third-party administration of Workers' Compensation claims City Manager 2. Pulled and moved to the regular agenda -Waive second reading and adopt Ordinance No. 1957 amending Section 2.04.020 of the Municipal Code concerning salaries for the Mayor and Councilmembers
