CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 87-544 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION DECLARING 381 SQ. FT. ADJACENT TO PETERS <br /> AVENUE A8 SURPLUS AND AUTHORIZING 8ALE OF PROPERTY TO <br /> ADJACENT LAND OWNER <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City owns a strip of land approximately two and <br /> one-half feet wide and 170 feet long which was purchased <br /> for the Peters Avenue right-of-way and which is no <br /> longer required for this right-of-way; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, City staff recommends approval of the sale of this <br /> parcel to the developer of the project at 520 St. John <br /> Street in order to accommodate access and the approved <br /> design of this development; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: Declares the parcel of land (approximately 381 sq. <br /> ft.) located at the southwest corner of Peters Avenue <br /> and St. John Street as surplus. <br /> <br />Section 2: The City determines that the market value for the <br /> property is $13.75 per square foot or a total value of <br /> $5,239.00 for the entire parcel. <br /> <br />Section 3: The City shall notify all agencies required by law to <br /> be given first opportunity to purchase surplus property. <br /> <br />Section 4: The City finds that the most appropriate development <br /> pattern for the are is for use as plottage to the <br /> adjacent parcel, provided that the owner of the adjacent <br /> parcel is willing to pay the fair market value as stated <br /> above. <br /> <br />Section 5: If no agency wishes to purchase the property, the <br /> City Manager is authorized to sell the subject property <br /> to the adjacent property owner. <br /> <br />Section 6: This resolution shall become effective immediately <br /> upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br /> <br />
