CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 87-521 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING EXTENSION OF AQUATIC SEASON FOR <br /> SIX WEEKS CONDITIONED UPON THE SEAHAWKS ENTERING AN <br /> AGREEMENT TO PAY ONE-HALF THE ESTIMATED COST <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Pleasanton Seahawks Swim Team has requested the City <br /> to open the Aquatic Center six weeks early on <br /> February 1, 1988 to provided needed water space for the <br /> Seahawks, and the Amador and Foothill High Schools <br /> swimming programs; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City will be able to schedule a variety of aquatic <br /> programs, including training classes for the community <br /> during that six week period; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the estimated cost for the extended season is $8,000; <br /> and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, at its meeting of November 12, 1987, the Park and <br /> Recreation Commission recommended the Aquatic Center be <br /> opened six weeks early conditional upon the Seahawks <br /> entering into an agreement with the City to pay $4,000 <br /> of the additional estimated cost; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: Authorizes extending the Aquatic season six weeks, <br /> opening February 1, 1988, subject to the condition that <br /> the Seahawks Swim Team enter into an agreement with the <br /> City to pay $4,000 of the estimated $8,000 additional <br /> operational costs for the six weeks period. <br /> <br />Section 2: Authorizes and amendment to the Budget to allocate <br /> $8,000 from the General Fund for the additional <br /> estimated expenditure. <br /> <br />Section 3: Authorizes the City Manager to execute the <br /> above-referenced agreement with the Pleasanton Seahawks <br /> Swim Team. <br /> <br />Section 4: This resolution shall become effective immediately <br /> upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br /> <br />
