Revised County Solid Waste Management Pla~. (July ?.9~ 1987) <br />Language PropOsed by'the City of Halrw'a'r~' (October 2~ 1987) <br /> <br />Measure to Achieve Short-Term Objectives <br />Page 11-3, Item 11 - Prior to November 1, 1988, a base line permitted landfill <br />capacity in the Alameda County shall be established using the engineering <br />technology currently available. <br /> <br />No new application for the import of waste for an agency outside Alameda County <br />shall be approved unless an engineering study certifies that at least 50 years <br />of permitted landfill capacity is available in Alameda County for all the <br />Jurisdictions in Alameda County. The engineering study shall be based upon the <br />regulations and technology prevailing at the time of application. <br /> <br />In no event shall any application from an agency outside of Alameda County be <br />approved with mitigation which would on the date of approval reduce the permit- <br />ted landfill capacity available to Alameda County Jurisdictions to less than 50 <br />years. <br /> <br />Management/Operations <br />Page II-8.z Item 3(c) <br /> <br />Any proposed plan amendment to import waste for disposal in Alameda County will <br />be considered for approval only after clear independent evidence is presented <br />demonstrating that sufficient fully permitted landfill capacity exists within <br />Alameda County to serve the needs of all County Jurisdictions for a minimum 50- <br />year continuous period. <br /> <br /> <br />
