CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 87-501 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION APPROVING PARTICIPATION BY THE CITY OF <br /> PLEASANTON IN A COUNTYWIDE PROGRAM FOR TME DEVELOPMENT, <br /> CONSTRUCTION AND ACQUISITION OF MULTIFAMILY RENTAL <br /> HOUSING DEVELOPMENTS FOR VERY LOW INCOME ELDERLY AND <br /> DISABLED PERSONS <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the County of Alameda (the "County") proposes to <br /> implement a countywide program for the development, <br /> construction and acquisition of multifamily rental <br /> housing developments containing in the aggregate not to <br /> exceed 2,000 dwelling units reserve fro occupancy by low <br /> income elderly and disabled persons; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the County proposes to call a countywide election to <br /> authorize the development, acquisition and construction <br /> of the developments and to authorize the issuance of <br /> general obligation bonds of the County to finance the <br /> program; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, one or more of such developments may, subject in each <br /> case to the approval of the City Council of the City of <br /> Pleasanton (the "City Council"), be located in the City <br /> of Pleasanton (the "City"); and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council desires to approve the participation by <br /> the City in the County's program and to approve the <br /> calling by the County of the election on a countywide <br /> basis; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: The participation by the City in the Conty's housing <br /> program for elderly and disabled very low income persons <br /> and families is hereby approved, subject to the approval <br /> hereafter by the City Council of each development to be <br /> located in the City. <br /> <br />Section 2: The calling by the County of a countywide election to <br /> authorize the implementation of the program is hereby <br /> approved. <br /> <br />Section 3: This resolution shall not create, or authorize the <br /> creation of, any liability of the City or any of its <br /> funds or properties for any purpose of the program. <br /> <br />Section 4: This resolution shall become effective immediately <br /> upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br /> <br />
