CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 87-478 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NAMING McWILLIAMS LANE IN MEMORY OF JOHN L. <br /> McWILLIAMS <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, John L. McWilliams honorably served the City of <br /> Pleasanton as Councilmember for two terms from 1958 to <br /> 1966; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, during his term on the Council he served as Mayor from <br /> 1962 to 1964; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, he was a dedicated employee of the City from June 10, <br /> 1974 until his death on November 1, 1980; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it was moved by Mayor Mercer and seconded by Vice Mayor <br /> Mohr to name a City street in his honor; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> Section 1: The street connecting to Stoneridge Mall Road <br /> adjacent to Fire Station No. 2 shall be named McWilliams <br /> Lane in memory of former Mayor, Councilmember, and <br /> employee John L. McWilliams. <br /> <br /> Section 2: This resolution shall become effective immediately <br /> upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br /> THIS RESOLUTION ADOPTED OCTOBER 20, 1987 BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE: <br /> <br /> AYES: Councilmembers - Butler, Mohr, Wilson and Mayor Mercer <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSENT: Councilmember Brandes <br /> ABSTAIN: None ~~~~ <br /> ATTEST: <br /> KENNETH R.
