PLANNING COMMISSION CITY OF PLEASANTON
ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA
RESOLUTION NO. PC-88-89
RESOLUTION APPROVING CASE UP-88-32, APPLICATION OF
FAMILY BIBLE CHURCH
WHEREAS, application of Family Bible Church for a conditional use
permit to establish a church facility to be located at
1020 Serpentine Lane in Valley Business Park; and
WHEREAS, zoning for the property is PUD (Planned Unit
Development) - Industrial District; and
WHEREAS, at their duly noticed public hearing of August 10, 1988,
the Planning Commission considered all public testimony,
relevant exhibits, and recommendations of the City staff
concerning this application; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission made the following findings:
A. That the proposed location of the conditional use is
in accordance with the objectives of this chapter and
the purposes of the district in which the site is
located.
The proposed use is consistent with the purposes of
this PUD District. Churches are conditional
permitted where they are found to be compatible with
the surrounding uses and if ample parking and
appropriate building space can be provided. The
proposed use meets the above restrictions.
B. That the proposed location of the conditional use and
the conditions under which it would be operated or
maintained will not be detrimental to the public
health, safety, welfare, or materially injurious to
the properties or improvements of the vicinity.
The proposed use will be operating primarily during
weekend hours when most of the surrounding uses are
closed and therefore, should not adversely affect the
surrounding uses. In addition, the applicant is
proposing only minor changes to the interior of the
building. The proposes use is compatible and
appropriate for the subject site.
