CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 87-441 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION ENDORSING THE RECOMMENDED TECMNOLOGY OF THE <br /> LIVERMORE/AMADOR VALLEY RAIL ALTERNATIVES STUDY AND <br /> REQUESTING SPECIFIC COMMITMENTS FROM BART FOR THE RAIL <br /> EXTENSION <br /> <br />WHEREAS, at its meeting of October 6, 1987, Council reviewed the <br /> report of the Director of Planning and Community <br /> Development (SR 87:456) regarding the Livermore/Amador <br /> Valley Rail Alternatives Study; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, after a careful consideration of all factors, the study <br /> consultants recommend the BART alternative; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: The City Council hereby endorses the recommended BART <br /> technology for the rail extension from the Bay Fair BART <br /> station through Castro Valley to the Pleasanton-Dublin <br /> area and requests the following commitments from BART <br /> for the rail extension: <br /> <br /> a. That the first phase of the BART extension be <br /> constructed through the 1-580/I-680 interchange and <br /> include an additional station in the vicinity of <br /> the future Hacienda drive interchange; <br /> <br /> b. That the full balance of funding be committed by <br /> BART for the rail extension; and <br /> <br /> c. That through service to other parts of the system <br /> be committed for operation in order to realize the <br /> potential full service benefits identified in the <br /> study. <br /> <br />Section 2: This resolution shall become effective immediately <br /> upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br /> <br />
