She asked if this would be done as part of the General Plan or on another agenda. <br />City Manager Fialho said they would do this through broad policy implementation that is <br />reflected in the new General Plan that provides staff and Council guidance collectively as <br />to what we want to pursue, and also in the coming year, staff will have a discussion with <br />the Council about the existing circulation system and some of the things that can be done <br />from a traffic signalization standpoint and circulation standpoint that improves the situation. <br />He said this can be done through the operating budget process and staff is allocating <br />some resources into the Traffic Division to better address such issues. Councilmember <br />McGovern asked that this be an agendized item so that the City can show there is a <br />strategic plan on how these items are being addressed prior to regional issues being <br />resolved. <br />Councilmember Thorne said he never expected the Council to reach a 5-0 vote and he <br />appreciated staff's efforts in providing data, other Councilmembers listening to each other <br />and felt it was remarkable. <br />Mayor Hosterman asked the Council to move to the Land Use Plan for the General Plan <br />Update. <br />Motion: It was m/s by Sullivan/Thorne that the Council retain the preferred land use plan <br />already adopted for the completion of the General Plan, but that we establish sufficient <br />flexibility in the General Plan that alternative land uses can still be considered as those <br />projects come forward. <br />Ayes: Cook-Kallio, McGovern, Sullivan, Thorne, Mayor Hosterman <br />Noes: None <br />Absent: None <br />MATTERS INITIATED BY COUNCIL <br />Councilmember McGovern confirmed with the City Manager that an RV discussion will be <br />agendized in the future. <br />COUNCIL REPORTS: None <br />ADJOURNMENT: There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 11:15 p.m. <br />Respecttull submitted, <br />en iaz l <br />City Clerk <br />City Council Minutes 26 May 1, 2007 <br />
