<br />4n. Approved a Proclamation declaring September 17-23 as Constitution Week in the <br />City of Pleasanton. <br /> <br />Motion: It was m/s by Brozosky/Thorne to approve the Consent Calendar as <br />recommended and as noted. Motion passed by the following vote: <br /> <br />Ayes: Councilmembers Brozosky, McGovern, Thorne, Sullivan, Mayor Hosterman <br />Noes: None <br />Absent: None <br />Abstain: None <br /> <br />5. MEETING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC <br /> <br />Sa. Presentation of a proclamation recognizing John Madden Day in the City of <br />Pleasanton <br /> <br />Mike Madden, son of John Madden, accepted the proclamation on behalf of his <br />father. <br /> <br />Mayor Hosterman thanked the Madden family for all the wonderful things they have <br />done to make Pleasanton a better place to live. <br /> <br />Sb. Commend Eric Carter, Harrison Carter, Joshua Oliver, Sam Zevanove and Jackson <br />Hager for fighting a fire at Del Prado Park <br /> <br />The commendation was read and the recipients were thanked for their bravery. <br /> <br />Sc. Presentation by John Rusmisel, District Manager of the Alameda County Mosquito <br />Abatement District <br /> <br />Pleasanton representative to the Alameda County Mosquito Abatement District, <br />Edward Santana, noted the efforts of the Mosquito Abatement Board and <br />commented on the upgrade of their building. <br /> <br />Mr. Rusmisel provided an overview of cases of West Nile virus in the County and <br />how residents can prevent being bitten by mosquitoes. <br /> <br />In response to question, Mr. Rusmisel explained how one might safely report dead <br />bird and animal sightings, as well as the first symptoms to be aware of regarding <br />West Nile virus. <br /> <br />Public Comment: <br /> <br />Jerry Wagner commented on property located at 4171 Stanley Boulevard that is for sale. <br /> <br />Fred Norman addressed the City Council concerning the war in Iraq. <br /> <br />City Council Minutes <br /> <br />3 <br /> <br />September 5, 2006 <br />
