Students participating in Youth in Government Day introduced themselves.

3. AGENDA AMENDMENTS

There were none.

4. CONSENT CALENDAR

Mr. Thorne referred to agenda item 4d, approval of plans and specifications, review of
bids and award of contract for Valley Trails Street Light Replacement, and wondered if
upgrading these streetlights would set a precedent.

Nelson Fialho, City Manager, said the streetlights identified in the staff report would be
made available to each neighborhood based upon the community driven process utilized for
Valley Trails. The options available to the community are standardized. There are some
neighborhoods that are unique and isolated and staff will attempt to make them unique to
compliment that environment. However, the ultimate goal is to standardize the streetlights as
much as possible.

Mr. Thorne referred to agenda item 4g, resolution authorizing the filing of an application
for Federal Surface Transportation Program Funding for 2007 annual resurfacing of various city
streets, and noticed that Valley Avenue was not included. He was under the impression that
Valley Avenue would be repaved this summer.

Mr. Fialho believed the resurfacing of Valley Avenue was scheduled for the summer of

2007.

Ms. McGovern noted that she provided a correction to the City Clerk for the minutes of
February 21, 2006. She requested a revision to paragraph seven, page 27, to state,
"Council member McGovern thanked Chris Miller for sending the list of Pleasanton residents in
the military serving in foreign countries and stated it was difficult to find on the City website.
She asked staff if there was a way to make the site more visible on the website."

It was moved by Mr. Brozosky, seconded by Thorne, that the following actions
under the Consent Calendar be taken with an amendment to the minutes of February 21,
2006:

a. Approved the minutes of 02121/06.

b. Actions of the Zoning Administrator and Planning Commission. (IR 06:011)
There was no action taken or required on this item.

c. Approved monthly disbursements and investment report for January 2006. (SR 06:066)

d. Approved plans and specifications, review of bids and awarded a contract for Valley
Trails Street Light Replacement to Bleyco Inc. (SR 06:067)

e. Accepted the artwork "Whooping Stick" for the City's permanent art collection.
(SR 06:069)

Pleasanton City Council
Minutes

2

03/07/06
