<br />The roll call vote was taken as follows: <br />AYES: Council members - Brozosky, McGovern, Sullivan, Thorne, and <br /> Mayor Hosterman <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />ABSTAINED: None <br />6b <br />Weed abatement assessments for Union Pacific Railroad (SR 05:225) <br /> Scott Deaver, Assistant Fire Marshal, presented the staff report. <br /> In response to an inquiry by Mr. Brozosky, Mr. Roush said that this assessment would <br />be included on this year's tax roll and collected as part of the tax Union Pacific Railroad pays in <br />the months of December and April. <br /> Mayor Hosterman declared the public hearing open. <br /> Vanessa Kawaihau, a Pleasanton resident, mentioned that an area in the North <br />Sycamore Specific Plan area at the corner of Sycamore and Sycamore Creek Way was omitted <br />from the list of areas within the City that need to be abated. She asked that it be included. <br /> At the request of Mayor Hosterman, Mr. Fialho indicated that staff would follow up with <br />Ms. Kawaihau regarding the matter. <br /> Mayor Hosterman closed the public hearing. <br /> Ms. McGovern asked if there is a procedure by which the community can call and report <br />property that is overrun with weeds? <br /> Mr. Deaver said yes and noted that the community reports many of the properties <br />identified by the Fire Department. <br /> Ms. McGovern asked that this information be placed on the City's website. <br /> It was moved by Ms. McGovern, seconded by Mr. Brozosky, to adopt Resolution <br />05-061, a resolu1ion declaring that the costs for weed abatement for property owned by <br />Union Pacific Railroad are a special assessment and lien imposed on the properties and <br />approving the supplemental cost accounting report for the 2005 Weed Abatement <br />Program. <br />The roll call vote was taken as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers - Brozosky, McGovern, Sullivan, Thorne, and <br /> Mayor Hosterman <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />ABSTAINED: None <br />Pleasanton City Council 8 08/16/05 <br />Minutes <br />
