7. MATTERS INITIATED BY COUNCIL
Ms. McGovern suggested that special presentations and recognitions not be made when
there is a full agenda in order to allow Council the opportunity to conduct all of its business. At
Mr. Casha' suggestion at a past Council meeting, she requested copies of the tennis courts
reservations records for the past three months.
Mr. Fialho said these records were available; however, the records were not available for
the past three months. The records were available for a period of during the year when there
was incremental rain. He did not believe it would capture the impact on the tennis courts, which
is why staff has asked the tennis contractor to go forward from this summer to paint a picture of
the true issue.
Mr. Brozosky requested support to discuss Campaign Reform as he had concerns
related to the costs of elections.
Council consensus was to discuss the matter during its priorities workshop to be held on
August 23, 2005.
Mr. Brozosky referenced written communication received this evening from Mr.
Woodward and asked staff to investigate and report back to Council regarding the elimination of
bicycle lanes. He also requested support to regulate sports courts as accessory structures.
Council consensus was to direct the Planning Commission to review and provide a
recommendation regarding the regulation of sports courts.
Mr. Fialho said staff would review Mr. Woodward's correspondence and provide a report
to Council.
8. COUNCIL COMMITTEE REPORTS
Council discussion ensued regarding the Livermore Amador Valley Transit Authority's
(LA VT A) Pilot Program that provided express buses from BART to Livermore.
9. CLOSED SESSION
The Closed Session was held before the meeting.
10. ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business to come before the Council, the meeting was adjourned
at 11 :25 p.m. to meet again in a regular meeting to be held on Tuesday, September 6, 2005 at
7:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers located at 200 Old Bernal Avenue.
Respectfully submitte
q{lW7~
Dawn G. Abrahamson, CMC
City Clerk
Pleasanton City Council 26 08/16/05
Minutes
