Council (U8GBC) Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Silver Level
certification be achieved. He wanted the public to gain an understanding of the capital costs for
incorporating these energy efficiencies into the project and the payback period. As part of this
project, he wanted the energy conservation items to be tracked separately over a period of time
in order to gain a clear understanding of the payback for implementing these efficiencies.
Mr. Fialho indicated that staff could track the energy conservation items if that was
Council's direction. He suggested that a minimum of one year be allowed to go by in order to
reflect the incremental costs savings.
There was Council consensus to direct staff to track the energy conservation items
separately over a period of time in order to gain a clear understanding of the payback for
implementing these efficiencies.
It was moved by Mr. Sullivan, seconded by Mr. Thorne, that the following actions under
the Consent Calendar be taken with amendments to the July 19, 2005 minutes as
requested by Ms. McGovern:
a.
