(SR 05:050)

Mr. Wilson presented the staff report.

In response to an inquiry by Mr. Brozosky, Mr. Wilson said there are a variety of
different traffic models and each of the three cities participating have their own
respective models. A series of meetings were conducted to see what traffic model
adequately fits the Cities of Dublin, Livermore and Pleasanton. The traffic model that
was chosen was the Contra Costa Transportation Authority's model. There are
additional costs to have this model upgraded so that it meets the three cities needs.
Without using the CCTA's traffic model, the three cities would be using a CMA traffic
model, which is not as specific nor is it as direct for the cities to be able to look at future
improvements. The additional funding provides for a higher level of traffic modeling,
which can be used in the future.

Mr. Brozosky asked who owns the traffic model and data once the study has
been completed.

Pleasanton City Council 16 02/15/05
Minutes
