If the proposed letter were sent, he believed it would
begin a process at Alameda County that will provide Granite Construction Company the
opportunity to address ail of the issues, and provide the public the opportunity to bring
forward its concerns and issues. He Was surprised that Granite Construction Company
was not aware of any complaints when the staff report seemed to indicate that there are a
large number of documented complaints. While the public may not be calling Granite
Construction Company to complain, lthere are certainly complaints. He believed the real
issue is that the residents will end up with a facility that has not had an environmental
review yet be within 1000 feet of the school.

Pleasanton City Council 8 08/03/04
Minutes
