It was moved by Mayor Pico, seconded by Mr. Campbell, to authorize the City Manager to enter into a contract with McGuire & Heater in the amount of $1,003,745 and to relieve K. J. Woods of its bid. Ms. Ayala asked if staff was looking for the $83,000 bond? Mr. Roush explained that if the contract were awarded to K.J.Woods and it did not enter into the contract, staff would seek to recover from the bid bond to make the city whole. There would probably be litigation on that. Mr. Brozosky noted the original estimate was about $800,000 and now the bid is for over a million dollars and asked what happened? Mr. Wilson did not know at this point, but would investigate. Mr. Pico commented this project is subject to reimbursement from Vineyard Corridor developers. MATTERS INITIATED BY COUNCIL Mr. Brozosky requested an update on the Livermore Airport Committee. Ms. Hosterman said there is still a struggle and the meetings are contentious. There is a special meeting scheduled for a Saturday morning and two regularly scheduled meetings for November and December. At the December meeting there will be a vote on some sort of advisory motion to be presented to the Livermore City Council.
