Woods <br />would be illegal and inequitable. <br /> <br /> Mayor Pico clarified that the relief sought was to be relieved of the bid and have <br />the bond returned. <br /> Ms. Walsh said yes. <br /> <br />There were no further speakers. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Mayor Pico, seconded by Mr. Campbell, to authorize the <br />City Manager to enter into a contract with McGuire & Heater in the amount of <br />$1,003,745 and to relieve K. J. Woods of its bid. <br /> <br />Ms. Ayala asked if staff was looking for the $83,000 bond? <br /> <br /> Mr. Roush explained that if the contract were awarded to K.J.Woods and it did <br />not enter into the contract, staff would seek to recover from the bid bond to make the city <br />whole. There would probably be litigation on that. <br /> <br /> Mr. Brozosky noted the original estimate was about $800,000 and now the bid is <br />for over a million dollars and asked what happened? <br /> <br />Mr. Wilson did not know at this point, but would investigate. <br /> <br /> Mr. Pico commented this project is subject to reimbursement from Vineyard <br />Corridor developers. <br /> <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Council members - Ayela, Brozoeky, Campbell, Hoeterman, and <br /> Mayor Pico <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />ABSTAIN: None <br /> <br />7. MATTERS INITIATED BY COUNCIL <br /> <br />Mr. Brozosky requested an update on the Livermore Airport Committee. <br /> <br /> Ms. Hosterman said there is still a struggle and the meetings are contentious. <br />There is a special meeting scheduled for a Saturday morning and two regularly <br />scheduled meetings for November and December. At the December meeting there will <br />be a vote on some sort of advisory motion to be presented to the Livermore City Council. <br />The Committee continues to hear from consultants regarding all the issues. <br /> <br />8.
