City of Pleasanton
Application to amend the City of Pleasanton's Personal Wireless Service Facility

Ordinance. Chapter 18.100 ofthe Pleaaanton Municipal Code. (SR 04:240)

Mr. Iserson presented the staff report.

Mr. Brezosky referred to the minutes of 1998 when the original ordinance was
adopted, which stated that appreval of the ordinance would result in Sprint and Cellular
One withdrawing the applications for McKinley Park. He asked staff why the antenna
was still in McKinley Park.

Mr. Iserson said at that time PacBell owned the antenna and staff tried very hard
to get PacBell to remove it. The response was it could not be removed because of loss
of coverege to the community. Since that time, PacBell was bought out by Cingular and
whenever Cingular applies for an antenna in town, staff tries to get it to analyze its
system to see if the antenna in McKinley Park can be removed. $o far that has not
happened. The lease runs until 2011.

Ms. Ayala inquired how many additional sites and their locations would be
allowed under the preposed ordinance. She asked if there were only a few sites, why
not approve the specific sites at once rather than review each one on a case-by-case
basis?

Pleasanton City Council 6 10/05/04
Minutes
