Mr. Bocian noted that there is only project, which includes improvements for the
transportation corridor.

Ms. Ayala asked staff to review the Developer Reimbursement funds for the golf
course.

As part of the golf course project, Ms. Rossi noted that a certain amount of
reimbursements are expected to come from development. Staff has tried to recognize
these funds, as it believes they will come in.

Mr. Roush noted that according to the Memorandum of Understanding with the
property owners, the property owners are to pay for a pro rata share of the infrastructure
built. As building permits are obtained, the City will receive a certain share of that
money to reimburse the City for what it has already expended.

Ms. Ayala asked if the Alameda County Fairgrounds Reimbursement for the
Bernal Storm Drain funds were for improvements that the City will be doing for its side
of the street. She asked if $20,000 was sufficient?

Ms. McKeehan said the City is being reimbursed $20,000 for the Alameda
County Fairgrounds pro rata share for the work already completed by the City.

Ms. Hosterman noted that it is reflected under non-personnel costs that staff's
reduced budget is based on year-to-date expenditures for utility costs, including water,
gas and electricity. Economists are saying there might be an increase in cost for gas and
electricity by summer of 2005.

Ms. Rossi reminded Council that this report is for the current year. Staff has tried
not to incorporate into the budget any unknown increases.

Ms. Hosterman reminded Council that it had discussed trying to network people
across town using either a trolley system or energy efficient vehicles to move people
from the hotels that are located on the perimeter of town to downtown Pleasanton, and
between the downtown and Hacienda Business Park. She wondered if it would be
appropriate to revisit this issue with the hotels as a way to increase occupancy.

Mayor Pico concurred with Ms. Hosterman's comments, but believed this was an
item to be discussed when Council reviewed its budget.

Ms. Ayala asked if the $500,000 for the partial purchase of New City
Hall/Community Center Land three acres, as reflected in Appendix B, was a new
amount?

Ms. McKeehan said $500,000 was the same amount that staff had been using, and
it was the purchase price that was agreed upon.

Pleasanton City Council 18 06/01/04
Minutes
