MINUTES <br /> OF THE <br /> MEETING <br /> OF THE <br />PLEASANTON CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br />February 3, 2004 <br /> <br />6:00 P.M. CLOSED SESSION <br /> <br />Conference with legal counsel concerning claim of Rachel Cason <br /> <br /> Conference with legal counsel concerning pending litigation (Signature <br />Properties, et al. v. Pleasanton Unified School District) <br /> <br />1. CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br /> The regular meeting of the City Council was called to order by Mayor Tom Pico <br />at 7:06 p.m. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Ayala led the assembly in the pledge o f allegiance. She reported <br />that early voting for the March 2 Primary Election would be held in the City Clerk's <br />Office beginning February 9 through February 20 between the hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. <br />The last day to register to vote is February 17. She announced that the Pleasanton <br />Unified School District had submitted an application for a nationwide competition for <br />Communities of Character. The School District was notified that it is one of the 17 <br />finalists and judges will be sent to the City to see how much of our Community of <br />Character the City is able to show off. She was hopeful the community would help in <br />this endeavor. She asked the community to think about its Community of Character <br />values for the remainder of this year by trying to dwell on the positive aspects of <br />Pleasanton, including the organized programs that are offered for children. <br /> <br />2. ROLLCALL <br /> <br /> City Clerk Dawn Abrahamson called the roll, which is recorded as follows: <br />Councilmembers present were Kay Ayala, Steve Brozosky, M~itt Campbell, Jennifer <br />Hosterman, and Mayor Tom Pico. Staff members present were: Deborah McKeehan, <br />City Manager; Michael Roush, City Attorney; Dawn Abrahamson, City Clerk; Nelson <br />Fiaiho, Deputy City Manager; Steven Bocian, Deputy City Manager; Brian Swift, <br />Director of Planning and Community Development; Dave Iremonger, Financial Services <br />Manager/Treasurer; Wayne Rasmussen, Principal Planner; Phil Grubstick, Assistant <br />Public Works Director; and Pamela Ott, Economic Development Manager. <br /> <br />Pleasanton City Council 1 02/03/04 <br />Minutes <br /> <br /> <br />
