5. MEETINGS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC

Ms. Ayala presented a commendation to Vera Revelli in honor of her public art
project at 4725 First SWeet.

Other Speakers

Jerry Wagner, 6344 Alisal Street, presented pictures illustrating traffic and unsafe
traffic conditions existing on Sycamore Road, Alisal Street, and Happy Valley Road. He
complained about the lack of a golf course bypass road and the use of recycled water.

Kurt Kummer, 4456 Clovewood Lane, announced and requested community
assistance with the Bernal Block Party to be held on April 17, 2004 from 11 a.m. to 4
p.m.

Kevin Close, 871 Sycamore Road, mentioned he was following up with
comments he made at the last Council meeting as to the status of Resolution 03-008
regarding progress for the construction of the golf course bypass road. He noted that no
formal announcement had been made to the public as to the status of the resolution,
which was adopted l0 months ago. He requested this matter be placed on a future
agenda.

Lisa Benjamin and friends, 3436 Gravina Place, showed a slide presentation
illustrating the Pleasanton Memorial Gardens Cemetery. They encouraged the City to
buy and operate the cemetery. As part of community service credits, they proposed that
students provide maintenance to keep up the grounds to make it more visually appealing.

Janet Lindfoot, 6300 Alisal Street, presented a letter from Vanessa Kawaihau, a
concerned Happy Valley resident. Ms. Kawaihau's letter mentioned the importance of
the east west collector road and the Happy Valley bypass road and noted that they are an
integral part of the North Sycamore and Happy Valley Specific Plans. She was hopeful
that the public had been informed and that the environmental impact report concluded
that a bypass road from the City's golf course to the Spotomo's upper PUD area and
through the north Sycamore plan area is the preferred traffic mitigation. This would
protect pedestrians and the semi-rural character of the Happy Valley community.

There were no further speakers.

6.
