MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE PLEASANTON CITY COUNCIL October 21, 2003 6:30 P.M. CLOSED SESSION Conference with legal counsel regarding pending litigation (Signature Properties, et al. v. Pleasanton Unified School District. 1. CALL TO ORDER The regular meeting of the City Council was called to order by Mayor Tom Pico at 7:08 p.m. Councilmember Hostcxman led the assembly in the Pledge of Allegiance. At a previous meeting, she mentioned that she had asked Council to consider directing staffto research and put together an ordinance preventing superstores in the City of Pleasanton. It was decided, however, that this would be a part of the General Plan. She stated that she would bring this matter up again under Matters Initiated by Council, and pointed out that many other cities have adopted such an ordinance. She reminded the community that the 29t~ Annual Band Review would be held this weekend in the City of Pleasanton and schedules are available online. She wished parents and children a safe and Happy Halloween. 2. ROLLCALL City Clerk Abrahamson called the roll, which is recorded as follows: Councilmembers present were Kay Ayala, Steve Brozosky, Matt Campbell, Jennifer Hosterman, and Mayor Pico. Staffmembers present were: Deborah McKeehan, City Manager; Michael Roush, City Attorney; Nelson Fialho, Deputy City Manager; Steven Bocian, Deputy City Manager; Brian Swift, Director of Planning and Community Development; Rob Wilson, Director of Public Works; and Sue Rossi, Finance Director. 3. AGENDA AMENDMENTS Councilmember Brozosky requested Item 6C, fiscal year 2002-2003 year end Financial Report (Operating Budget only), be heard before Item 6B, approval of amendment to Management and Confidential Employee Compensation Plan including Livermore/Pleasanton Fire Depashnent Management.
