MINUTES <br /> OF THE <br /> MEETING <br /> OF THE <br />PLEASANTON CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br />October 21, 2003 <br /> <br />6:30 P.M. CLOSED SESSION <br /> <br /> Conference with legal counsel regarding pending litigation (Signature Properties, <br />et al. v. Pleasanton Unified School District. <br /> <br />1. CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br /> The regular meeting of the City Council was called to order by Mayor Tom Pico <br />at 7:08 p.m. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Hostcxman led the assembly in the Pledge of Allegiance. At a <br />previous meeting, she mentioned that she had asked Council to consider directing staffto <br />research and put together an ordinance preventing superstores in the City of Pleasanton. <br />It was decided, however, that this would be a part of the General Plan. She stated that <br />she would bring this matter up again under Matters Initiated by Council, and pointed out <br />that many other cities have adopted such an ordinance. She reminded the community that <br />the 29t~ Annual Band Review would be held this weekend in the City of Pleasanton and <br />schedules are available online. She wished parents and children a safe and Happy <br />Halloween. <br /> <br />2. ROLLCALL <br /> <br /> City Clerk Abrahamson called the roll, which is recorded as follows: <br />Councilmembers present were Kay Ayala, Steve Brozosky, Matt Campbell, Jennifer <br />Hosterman, and Mayor Pico. Staffmembers present were: Deborah McKeehan, City <br />Manager; Michael Roush, City Attorney; Nelson Fialho, Deputy City Manager; Steven <br />Bocian, Deputy City Manager; Brian Swift, Director of Planning and Community <br />Development; Rob Wilson, Director of Public Works; and Sue Rossi, Finance Director. <br /> <br />3. AGENDA AMENDMENTS <br /> <br /> Councilmember Brozosky requested Item 6C, fiscal year 2002-2003 year end <br />Financial Report (Operating Budget only), be heard before Item 6B, approval of <br />amendment to Management and Confidential Employee Compensation Plan including <br />Livermore/Pleasanton Fire Depashnent Management. <br /> <br />Pleasant City Council 1 10/21/03 <br />Minutes <br /> <br /> <br />
