Ms. Hosterman asked Mr. Costanzo if he had ever seen the list of 150 items that
was presented to the Planning Commission from the Alameda County Waste
Management Authority.

Mr. Costanzo informed her that as a company, he had not seen it. He indicated he
had a staffmember who is not with them tonight who has been following this and
working closely on it. He stated that he does not know if the Heinz list meets the 50
points.

Ms. Hosterman believed there were many items on the list that were germane to
good building practices, not unlike the LEED List.

Mr. Costanzo informed her that he was sure it was similar to the list they created.
The list created is very extensive and has many Green Building items as they are doing
many of those on many of the projects they are building on the Bemal property. He was
not willing to make a commitment that they will attain 50 points when he does not know
all the details of the program. He was willing to stand behind their commitment of
meeting the Green Building list that was put together with staffand the County, and
approved by Council on property. They know they can meet the list they prepared
because those are the building materials they use.

In an effort to streamline building practices across the County of Alameda, Ms.
Hosterman believed the City of Pleasanton would like to be in compliance. She asked
Mr. Costanzo if it would be possible to look at the 40 items on their list that would be
appropriate and applicable to this project. She also suggested that they take a look at the
Alameda County list of 150 potential levels to see if they could possibly meet any of
those items on their list.

Mr. Costanzo noted that is was possible but it is not possible by tonight's
approval which was why he was requesting not to be required to have 50 points.

Don Ruthroff, representing Dahlin Group, 2671 Crow Canyon Road, San Ramon,
presented the architecture. He believed they have put together a nice package and
indicated they had done an extensive design program in concert with the Planning staff
and their hired outside architectural consultant. The architectural theme is a
French/country village atmosphere floor plans, which include three elevations per plan
and some variation. Two plans have detached garages and secondary units.

To make it clear, Ms. Ayala inquired if these were the same plans as already have
been approved for the Heinz property?

Mr. Ruthroff confirmed that they were the same plans as already approved for the
Heinz project.

Pleasanton City Council 14 10/07/03
Minutes
