MINUTES <br /> OF THE <br /> MEETING <br /> OF THE <br />PLEASANTON CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br />August 5, 2003 <br /> <br />6:30 P.M. CLOSED SESSION <br /> <br /> Conference with legal counsel regarding pending litigation (Signature Properties, et al. v. <br />Pleasanton Unified School District) <br /> <br />1. CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br /> The regular meeting of the City Council was called to order by Mayor Tom Pico at 7:10 <br />p.m. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Campbell led the assembly in the pledge of allegiance. He commented <br />that school would be starting soon and wished good luck to families preparing to send their <br />children back to school. He noted the last "First Wednesday" event will occur downtown <br />tomorrow and encouraged people to attend. He then dedicated his opening comments to City <br />Clerk Peggy Ezidro, who will be retiring at the end of the month after 23 years with the City. <br /> <br />2. ROLL CALL <br /> <br /> City Clerk Peggy Ezidro called the roll, which is recorded as follows: Councilmembers <br />present were Kay Ayala, Steve Brozosky, Matt Campbell, Jennifer Hosterman, and Mayor Tom <br />Pico. Staff members present were: Nelson Fialho, Deputy City Manager; Michael Roush, City <br />Attorney; Robert Wilson, Director of Public Works; Jeff Knowles, Traffic Engineer; Brian Swift, <br />Director of Planning and Community Development; and Julie Famsworth, Director of Library <br />Services. <br /> <br />3. AGENDA AMENDMENTS <br /> <br /> It was noted that Items 4f and 4p on the Agenda Consent Calendar were inadvertently <br />switched. Item 41, PUD-01-3M, Mardel, LLC, has been appealed and hence was removed from <br />the agenda. Item 6a, PAP-51 (PADR-776, Steven and Laura Siner), was continued to September <br />16, 2003, at the request of the applicant.
