(IR 03:006) <br />No action was required or taken on this item. <br /> <br />PUD-80-2-12M~ Parkway Properties <br />Application for a minor modification to a planned unit development (PUD-80-02) to <br />allow banks as a permitted use in Bernal Corporate Park. (IR 03:005) <br />No action was required or taken on this item. <br /> <br />Approved the application to close City streets for special events during 2003. <br />(SR 03:034) <br /> <br />Approved the contract with West Coast Arborists, Inc., in the not-to-exceed amount of <br />$179,000, to provide services for the completion of the inventory of city-owned trees and <br />to develop a tree maintenance management program; and authorized the City Manager to <br />execute the agreement. (SR 03:036) <br /> <br />Approved the monthly disbursements, Investment Report, and COPS AB 3229 <br />Expenditure Reports for December 2002 and claims for the month of December 2002 in <br />the amount of $10,518,158.36. MEETING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC <br /> <br /> Judy Banks explained the Robotic Program and indicated the group has participated in <br />the annual Science Fun Fair and the first Lego League Robotics Competition. She showed a <br />newspaper article regarding the activities of the group. She reported that the program has been <br />expanded from ten students to over 250 students. The program is soon to be expanded to <br />Pleasanton Middle School, where it will serve 1,000 students. She introduced six of the <br />participants in the Vintage Hills Robotic Group, who represented Pleasanton in the first U.S. <br />Foundation for Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology Lego League <br />Competition, designed specifically for elementary and middle school students, similar to that <br />offered at the high school level. The Vintage Hills Robotic Group advanced from regional to <br />state levels and earned two awards, placing 13th out of 190 teams at the state level. She thanked <br />Council for its grant and explained their plans for the future.
