It was moved by Ms. Michelotti, seconded by Ms. Ayala, to support in concept staff
working out the mitigation issues except for compensation for the fencing and to pursue
private gate access along the entire trail corridor from the Zone 7 arroyos.

The roll call vote was as follows:
AYES: Councilmembers - Ayala, Campbell, Dennis, Michelotti, and Mayor Pico
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
ABSTAIN: None

Mayor Pico wanted to have an additional option of a trail on the other side of the arroyo.
He felt it would be good to have school access. Bridges may not be able to be built in the near
future, but he felt it would be a good link between the business park, the school, the neighbors
and the rest of the community.

Ms. Michelotti did not want to add extra work to the Commission or staff. There is not
enough money to start on this plan, let along build double trails in one location. If anything is to
be reviewed, look for access from the south trail across.

Ms. Dennis requested a review of adding a trail from Ridge View Commons down the
Transportation Corridor to downtown.

Ms. Michelotti inquired if that had been considered by the Parks and Recreation
Commission.

Mr. Wolfe said the Commission had not considered a trail from Bernal to Junipero as part
of the Trails Master Plan. What he believed the Mayor was suggesting is to add the north side of
Arroyo Mocho as something to be considered in the future by the Commission and to extend the
trail from Bernal to Junipero.

It was moved by Mayor Pico, seconded by Mr. Campbell, to request the Parks and
Recreation Commission and staff to investigate amending the trails plan to show an
alternate trail on the north side of the Arroyo Mocho as a lower priority and long term
part of the plan and to review the addition of a trail from Ridge View Commons to
downtown.

The roll call vote was as follows:
AYES: Councilmembers - Campbell, Dennis, and Mayor Pico
NOES: Councilmembers Ayala and Michelotti
ABSENT: None
ABSTAIN: None

Pleasanton City Council 27 04/16/02
Minutes
