Mayor Pico indicated he was committed to building this golf course in the Happy Valley
Area. He did not think the money spent so far has been wasted. If the people in Happy Valley
don't want to be annexed to the City of Pleasanton, that is their decision. He wanted to make
certain the City was aware of options and alternatives in the event they decide not to annex to the
City because he believed there were other options available. That may be less expensive as well.
He wanted these options described in advance so everyone is aware of what the City may or may
not do. He believed the community wants to see this project proceed and he definitely wanted to
see a barrier to growth in the southern part of the City.

The roll call vote was as follows:
AYES: Councilmembers - Ayala, Campbell, Dennis, Michelotti, and Mayor Pico
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
ABSTAIN: None

Ms. Michelotti asked if there would be discussion about the operators, joint ventures, etc.
when staff comes back with all the options.

Ms. McKeehan said staff did not recommend looking for a private partner. If Council
wants staff to look for a venture capitalists to join the City, it needs to give direction to staff.

Mayor Pico felt staff could wait on that.

7. MATTERS INITIATED BY COUNCIL

Mayor Pico indicated a Mayor's Report is scheduled for Thursday and also two weeks
from now and he will not be available to attend.
