CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Michelofii, seconded by Councilmember <br />Ayah, to adopt Resolution No. 09-1~2, declaring the results of the November 7, 2000 <br />Municipal Election. <br /> <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />ABSTAIN: None <br /> <br /> Judge Hugh A. Walker administered the Oath of Office for newly elected Mayor <br />Tom Pico and Councilmembers Marl Campbell and Kay Ayala. <br /> <br /> The City of Pleasanton Poet Laureate Charlene Villella read her poem "Weaving <br />Dreams", a copy of which is attached to these Minutes. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Campbell said we live in a representative democracy that goes <br />back over 200 years and the time-honored U~lition of a peaceful transition of power is <br />not to be taken lightly. He was grateful and humble to be serving the people of <br />Pleasanton. He was filling the chair of a person who had been serving the people of <br />Pleasanton well and hoped to do as good a job as Tom Pico had done in the last eight <br />years. He thanked his family and others for their assistance in the election. <br /> <br /> Kay Ayala promised to work hard in the next four years. She thanked Mayor <br />Tarvet for his mentoting in the last four years and felt Pleasanton was a better place <br />because of him. <br /> <br /> Ms. Dennis also thanked Mayor Tarver for his service and for carrying on the <br />tradition of citizen involvement. She thanked him for welcoming her as a new resident <br />and encouraging her involvement. She congratulated Mayor Pico and Councilmembers <br />Ayala and Campbell. She was looking forward to an exciting time and believed the <br />Council would carry on the tradition of hard work that had been set by Mayor Tarver. <br /> <br /> Ms. Michelotti offered her congratulations to the new Council end wished Mayor <br />Tarver well in his future endeavors.
