The roll call vote was as follows: AYES: Councilmembers - Ayala, Dennis, Michelotti, Pico, and Mayor Tarver NOES: None ABSENT: None ABSTAIN: None 4. CONSENT CALENDAR It was moved by Councilmember Michelofii, seconded by Councilmember Ayah, to adopt Resolution No. 09-1~2, declaring the results of the November 7, 2000 Municipal Election. NOES: None ABSENT: None ABSTAIN: None Judge Hugh A. Walker administered the Oath of Office for newly elected Mayor Tom Pico and Councilmembers Marl Campbell and Kay Ayala. The City of Pleasanton Poet Laureate Charlene Villella read her poem "Weaving Dreams", a copy of which is attached to these Minutes. Councilmember Campbell said we live in a representative democracy that goes back over 200 years and the time-honored U~lition of a peaceful transition of power is not to be taken lightly. He was grateful and humble to be serving the people of Pleasanton. He was filling the chair of a person who had been serving the people of Pleasanton well and hoped to do as good a job as Tom Pico had done in the last eight years. He thanked his family and others for their assistance in the election. Kay Ayala promised to work hard in the next four years. She thanked Mayor Tarvet for his mentoting in the last four years and felt Pleasanton was a better place because of him. Ms. Dennis also thanked Mayor Tarver for his service and for carrying on the tradition of citizen involvement. She thanked him for welcoming her as a new resident and encouraging her involvement. She congratulated Mayor Pico and Councilmembers Ayala and Campbell. She was looking forward to an exciting time and believed the Council would carry on the tradition of hard work that had been set by Mayor Tarver. Ms. Michelotti offered her congratulations to the new Council end wished Mayor Tarver well in his future endeavors. She was also looking forward to the next few years.
