Tim Meese, executive director of the Pleasenton Downtown Association, reviewed the <br />upcoming events for the summer including the Antiques Fair, the First Wednesday events, the <br />Friday ooncerts in the park, Heritage Days, a barbeque rib cook-off, a wine tasting event and the <br />Hot Rod Heaven event in August. <br /> <br /> Mr. Campbell inquired how a company could sponsor an event and was told the company <br />should oontact the Downtown Association. <br /> <br /> Pat Belding, 7703 Highland Oaks Drive, representing the Affordable Housing Forum, <br />read a proclamation regarding Affordable Housing Week, June 1-10, 2001, and asked Council to <br />formally adopt it. <br /> <br /> It wm moved by Mayor Pieo, ~eeonded by Ms. Dennis, to add this item to the <br />a~nda, as it was a matter that arose after the agenda was posted and action needed to be <br />taken prior to the Council's next meeting. <br /> <br />Tlg roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmambers - Ayala, Campbell, Dennis, and Mayor Pico <br />NOES: None <br />ARSENT: Councilmember Michelotti <br />ABSTAIN: None <br /> <br /> It was moved by Mayor Pieo, seconded by Ms. Dennis, to proclaim the week of <br />June 1 through Jue 10, 2001 as "Affordable Housing Week" in Pleasanton. <br /> <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmambers - Ayala, Campbell, Dennis, and Mayor Pico <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Councilmember Michelotti <br />ABSTAIN: None <br /> <br /> Ms. Dennis indicated that Ms. Michelo~ would be in support of this as well if she were <br />present. <br /> <br /> Terry Edwards, 5793 Via Peralta, Youth Commissioner, presented an update on the <br />activities of the Youth Commission for the last year and gave each Councilmember a tee shirt <br />from the Good Guys fourth annual Youth Day car show. He commended the Police Depa~uent <br />for its collaboration and cooperation over the last year. He also indicated there is a new <br />partnership with the Downtown Association, which is allowing a block to display the cars from <br />the Youth Day car show in August. There will be several dances at 4900 Hopyard for high <br />school and middle school kids.
