Councilmember Ayala agreed that those were areas she would like to see surveyed. She is also looking at the Youth Master Plan and facilities dedicated to youth. Mayor Pico suggested a question focusing on each of the commissions. He thought that each of the commissions be given the opportunity to submit a question specific to its area of expertise. Councilmember Dennis thought the Council should consider the timing and consideration for the upcoming School Board election. She shared the concern about how meaningful the responses would be if the citizens were not aware of some of the newer programs. She would like to see some immediate follow up when the citizen response to a specific question was fair or poor. Councilmember Ayala talked about affordable housing being an area of questioning. Mayor Pico said that right now there is no area of issue he can see, but he would like to see an update of the baseline so that Council has this information. He can foresee additional surveys on specific topics that would cover in detail a particular subject. Councilmember Michelotti liked the idea of the individual commissions submitting a question. Councilmember Dennis would like to see something on the garbage and recycling program, cable services, or animal control service included. Ms. McKeehan said some consideration should be made about questions that covered topics that the City could directly control - the recycling program or animal control services. She said that staff will relook at the questionnaire based on the comments just discussed and will bring back to Council another staffreport on this topic. Mayor Pico said that there was consensus that the questionnaire should be submitted to the citizens during the time frame that is available to the City, meaning that it should go forward. 7.
