Ms. Ayala asked that Ms. Dennis work with staff. She also asked that free service <br />be provided for coverage of the School Board meetings of other cities as well. <br /> <br /> Mr. Friedman said the agreement provides for a request of a second fiber optic <br />insertion point. <br /> <br /> Mr. Fialho said we could request an additional outlet if it is within 125 feet from <br />an existing live feed. If it were outside that limit, there would be a cost sharing. <br /> <br /> Ms. Michelotti suggested the other cities make their own suggestions so when we <br />get this back, we can address our issues. <br /> <br /> Mr. Friedman indicated the only time issue is to have a shared June 1 franchise <br />date. <br /> <br />This item was continued to April 3. <br /> <br /> Mr. Fialho indicated the existing agreement expires March 31, so Council needed <br />to extend the existing franchise agreement until May 31. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Ms. Ayala, seconded by Ms. Dennis, to extend the existing <br />cable television franchise agreement to May 31, 2001. <br /> <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers - Ayala, Campbell, Dennis, Michelotti, and Mayor Pico <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />ABSTAIN: None <br /> <br />7. MATTERS INITIATED BY COUNCIL <br /> <br /> Ms. Michelotti indicated that her appointee on the Bernal Task Force, Bob <br />Wright, is unable to continue on the Task Force. She thanked him for his work and <br />announced that Jan Batchellor will continue in his place on the Task Force. <br /> <br /> Mr. Campbell referred to a question raised at the last call-in show about the upper <br />field lights, which were on with no one on the field. He asked if anything could be done <br />about that. <br /> <br /> Ms. McKeehan said some of the lights are on timers and it is not easy to just <br />switch them off. Staff is looking at the situation to change out the lights. <br /> <br /> Ms. Campbell said there are many children looking for things to do in the summer <br />and some families cannot afford camps.
