__ 1. CALL TO ORDER The regular meeting of the City Council was called to order by Vice Mayor Pico at 7:06 p.m. Councilmember Ayala led the assembly in the pledge of allegiance. She noted the date as the anniversary of the Battle of Normandy (D-Day). She mentioned the recent D.A.R .E. program $~aduation for all fitlh grade students, put on by one of the Pleasanton Police departments in conjunction with the Pleasanton Unified School District. She observed at graduations the students had great enthusiasm for this program and lbr the Police Department involvement. Another item of attention is the Far Western Regional Soccer Championships, taking place in Pleasanton the week of June 19th. 2. ROLLCALL City Clerk Peggy Ezidro called the roll, which is recorded as follows: Councilmembers present were Kay Ayala, Becky Dermls, Sharmll Michelotfi, and Thomas P. Pico, Jr. Staff members present were Deborah Acosta, City Manager; Michael Roush, City Attorney; Randall A. Lum, Director of Public Works; Steven Bocian, Deputy City Manager; Brian Swift, Director of Planning & Community Development, and Susan Rossi, Director of Finance, Mayor Tarver arrived at the meeting at 10:30 p.m. 3. AGENDA AMENDMENTS Ms, Acosta indicated commendations for two soccer teams had been added to the agenda. In addition, because Mayor Tarver would be late in arriving, it may be necessary to rearrange certain items on the agenda to allow- him to participate in the discussion and decision. 4. CONSENT CALENDAR It was moved by Ms. Michelotfi, seconded by Ms. Ayala, that the following actions be taken: a. Approve City Council Minutes lbr 5/16/00. b.
