CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br /> The regular meeting of the City Council was called to order by Vice Mayor Pico <br />at 7:06 p.m. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Ayala led the assembly in the pledge of allegiance. She noted the <br />date as the anniversary of the Battle of Normandy (D-Day). She mentioned the recent <br />D.A.R .E. program $~aduation for all fitlh grade students, put on by one of the Pleasanton <br />Police departments in conjunction with the Pleasanton Unified School District. She <br />observed at graduations the students had great enthusiasm for this program and lbr the <br />Police Department involvement. Another item of attention is the Far Western Regional <br />Soccer Championships, taking place in Pleasanton the week of June 19th. <br /> <br />2. ROLLCALL <br /> <br /> City Clerk Peggy Ezidro called the roll, which is recorded as follows: <br />Councilmembers present were Kay Ayala, Becky Dermls, Sharmll Michelotfi, and <br />Thomas P. Pico, Jr. Staff members present were Deborah Acosta, City Manager; <br />Michael Roush, City Attorney; Randall A. Lum, Director of Public Works; Steven <br />Bocian, Deputy City Manager; Brian Swift, Director of Planning & Community <br />Development, and Susan Rossi, Director of Finance, <br /> <br />Mayor Tarver arrived at the meeting at 10:30 p.m. <br /> <br />3. AGENDA AMENDMENTS <br /> <br /> Ms, Acosta indicated commendations for two soccer teams had been added to the <br />agenda. In addition, because Mayor Tarver would be late in arriving, it may be necessary <br />to rearrange certain items on the agenda to allow- him to participate in the discussion and <br />decision. <br /> <br />4. CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> <br /> It was moved by Ms. Michelotfi, seconded by Ms. Ayala, that the following <br /> actions be taken: <br /> <br />a. Approve City Council Minutes lbr 5/16/00. <br /> <br />b.
