The community, parents and non-parents alike, are demanding the
School District provide for current students. If it makes more
sense to build a school on the Del Prado sit~e vs. the Stoneridge
site, then that is where a school should be built. Period. If
permanent structures are going to be needed, and the community
decides that temporary structures are not adequate, then the School
District should provide permanent structures. Period.

The City should do everything in its power to understand funding
mechanisms available to the School District. If the City
determines that handing out. permits to Developers does not satisfy
the needs of the City, nor the needs of Pleasanton's kids, then
the City should cease handing out those permits.

I'll bet my paycheck for the month of December that a moratorium
on residential building would quickly result in dialogue which
would lead to a greater understanding of the needs of the City and
the School District. Quite possibly, we could arrive at a better
way of doing business, one which is fair to everyone, and not
designed solely to satisfy the greed of a handful of developers.

I am asking that the City Cnuncil declare a moratorium on
residential building, until such time as the Council decides that
we have no alternative but to physically grow. I am asking that
the School District be asked to hold onto the Del Prado site until
such time as it can get additional public feedback on the
appropriateness of providing for future students on the backs of
our kids and teachers.

Respectful ly,

Jennifer HosLerman

*I am a parent of 3 children currently enrolled in Pleasanton
Schools, and serve on the Budget Advisory Committee for PUSD.
