Mayor Mercer declared this item dismissed from the agenda at the request of the <br />applicant. <br /> <br />Matters for the Information of the Council <br /> There were no matters for the information of the Council presented at this meeting. <br /> <br />REPORTS OF THE CITY ATTORNEY <br />Denial of Claim by Brian Samuelson <br /> Mr. Levine presented his report (SR 80:343) dated November 19, 1980, regarding <br />this matter. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Wood, and seconded by Councilmember Kephart, that <br />Resolution No. 80-302, denying the claim of Brian Samuelson v. City of Pleasanton <br />for an accident on August 5, 1980, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Butler, Kephart, Mohr, Wood, and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />Request of Citizens Action League for Waiver of Fees for Soliciting <br /> Mr. Levine presented his report (SR 80:345) dated November 20, 1980, regarding <br />this matter. <br /> <br /> Mr. Michael Votichenko, State-wide Canvass Director for the Citizens Action <br />League, presented a scope of activities this group is involved with, stating they <br />had been instrumental in the petition for the lowering of utility rates. He ad- <br />vised that several other municipalities had waived solicitors fees for this organi- <br />zation and he requested Pleasanton City Council to do likewise. <br /> <br /> After discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Kephart, and seconded by <br />Councilmember Mohr, to waive the $25.00 processing fee for a non-profit organiza- <br />tion and to charge the $10.00 solicitors fee to allow for fingerprint check. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Butler, Kephart, Mohr, Wood, and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABS~: None <br /> <br />Amendment to Card Room Ordinance <br /> Mr. Levine advised that in the recent procedures with the Castle Bar it was <br />discovered that their Card Room Permit had expired. He stated that it would be <br />advisable for Council to consider at this time an amendment to the Card Room Ordi- <br />nance to reduce the number of allowable card rooms to one, if they so desired. <br /> <br /> After discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Butler, and seconded by Council- <br />member Kephart, instructing the City Attorney to prepare a draft ordinance initiating <br />an amendment to the Card Room Ordinance to limit the number of permitted card rooms <br />in Pleasanton to one. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Butler, Kephart, Mohr, Wood, and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />COM}~NICATIONS <br /> There were no Communications presented at this meeting. <br /> <br />9. 11/25/80 <br /> <br /> <br />
