Matters for the information of the.Cq~ncil= <br />Mr. Edgar stated that he had recieved a letter from Assemblyman Floyd Wakefield <br />and also a copy of AB-61, regarding pre-emption of local control. <br /> <br />It was moved by Councilman Reid and seconded by Councilman Spiliotopoulos that <br />the City Staff be instructed to send a telegram to Senator Richard J. S INITIATED BY COUNCIL .MEMB.[3p_ <br /> <br />Councilman Rega requested the staff to investigate the possibility of the Gity <br />opposing a proposed increase in first class mail to 7¢. <br /> <br />Councilman Spiliotopoulos requested the st~ff to notify Zone 7 that it is now <br />~ccessary to begin abating weeds along their portion of the Arroyo Mocho. <br /> <br />Cguncilman Spiliotopoulos also requested the Director of Public Works to <br />prepare a report by May 19, 1969, on an alternate truclc route to Abbie Street- <br />Bernal Avenue leading on to Interestate 680. <br /> <br />Councilman Spiliotopoulos also ~equested the staff to proceed to have the <br />Business License Ordinance revised and the Parking District Study done as <br />soon as possible. <br /> <br />Mayor Getton reported that he had been requested by the Alameda County Bar <br />Association to proclaim May 1, 1969, as "Law Day". <br /> <br />It was moved by Councilman Beratlis and seconded by Councilman Spilfotopoulos <br />that the Mayor be authorized to proclaim May 1, 1969, as "Law Day". <br /> <br />~he roll call vote.~s as fo.llo~; <br />A~ES; Councilmen Bernills, Rega, Reid, Spiliotopoulos and Mayor Gerton <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Hone <br /> <br />Councilman Reid stated that he was concerned over the gravel spillage on First <br />Street and Stanley Boulevard and requested that this matter be discussed at t~e <br />G~avel Szudy Liaison Committee meeting. <br /> <br />Mayor Getton reported that the rep~esentatives from the City Council would be <br />unable to attend the SACEOA meeting on April 30th, due to conflicting committ- <br />ments. <br /> <br />I~ was moved by Councilman Spiliotopoulos and seconded by Councilman Rega that <br />Mr. Hirst be authorized to attend the SACEOA Board meeting on April 30, 1969 <br />as a City Council delegate and that he also be authorized to vote at this <br />meeting. <br /> <br />T_he ~o__ll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Betaills, Rega, Reid, Spiliotopoulos and Mayor Getton <br />NOES: None <br />AE~ENT: None <br /> <br /> MEETING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC <br /> No one addressed the Chair. <br /> <br /> EXECUTIVE SESSION <br /> ~4~yor Gerton adjourned the meeting to an Executive Session at 10:05 P.M. <br /> <br /> Mayor Getton reconvened the meeting at 10:35 P.M. <br /> <br /> <br />
