Mr. Fairfield explained that the Planning Commis- <br />-- sion had approved the original Tentative Map for Tract No. 2855 several years ago, <br /> and by their Resolution No. 880, recommended to the City Council the modification <br /> of the zone change amendment as shown on the Tentative Map, Exhibit B. Mr. Fair- <br /> field requested that in view of the historical park within the subdivision, he <br /> would prefer to have the original Tentative Map, Exhibit A, approved because of <br /> the time element. <br /> Mr. Castro explained that the multiple areas have remained substantially un- <br /> changed from the original zoning, with the major change being the new historical <br /> park, whereas before, the park was an interior linear park oriented to the sub- <br /> division. <br /> Considerable discussion regarding the matter of multiple zoning on Santa Rita <br /> Road, the historical park, and other pertinent matters ensued. <br />h~ It was moved by Councilman Reid and seconded by Councilman Beratlis that the <br />,-~ public hearing be closed. <br />~O The roll call vote was as follows: <br />~D AYES: Councilmen Beratlis Reid Spiliotopoulos and Mayor Gerton <br />  , , <br /> [,) ~OES: None <br /> ASSENT: Councilman Rega <br /> <br /> Councilman Reid stated that in reviewing various land use proposals, he was of <br /> the opinion that the Subdivision Map which describes the multiple zoning along <br /> Santa Rita Road as endorsed by the Subdivision Committee, was his choice of land <br /> use for the frontage of this Subdivision. <br /> It was moved by Councilman Beratlis and seconded by Councilman Spiliotopoulos <br /> that the Map for Tract No. 2855 be referred back to the Planning Commission for <br /> modification of rezoning it as outlined in the alternate Map "B" <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Spiliotopoulos and Mayor Gerton <br /> NOES: Councilman Reid <br /> ABSENT: Councilman Rega <br /> <br /> MATTERS CONTINUED FOR DECISION <br /> There were no matters to be continued for decision. <br /> <br /> SPECIAL REPORTS <br /> There were no Special Reports to be presented at this meeting. <br /> <br /> REPORTS OF BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS <br /> There were no reports of Boards and Commissions. <br /> <br /> REPORTS OF THE CITY MANAGER <br /> Presentstion of the Proposed Five Year Capital Improvement Program <br /> Mr. Fales presented the proposed Five-Year Capital Improvement Program and <br /> Appendix to the Council and stated that he would set a study session for the <br /> staff and Councilmen. <br /> <br /> ,Rejort Re: Under~o~d Utility District No. 69-1 (continuation of the Underground. <br /> Street Ligh.~ing Project in the Downtown Area) <br /> Mr. Fales explained this project and the area involved. <br /> -- It w~s moved by Councilman Spiliotopoulos and seconded by Councilman Reid that <br /> R~zolution No. 69-78, setting a public hearing to determine whether public necessity <br /> health, safety or welfare requires the formation of an underground utility district <br /> on the east and west sides of Main Street, from the north property line of Spring <br /> Street and the extension thereof westerly across Main Street to the south bank of <br /> the Arroyo del Valle, at 8:00 P.M. on May 5, 1969, be adopted. <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Reid, Spiliotopoulos and Mayor Gerton <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSENT: Councilman Rega <br /> <br /> <br />
