Johnson Volkswa~on Center as Johnson prive <br /> Mr. Fales stated that this matter was continued from last week at the request <br />of the City Council, in order that the Council might suggest alternate names for <br />consideration at this meeting. <br /> Councilman Beratlis suggested that each street within the industrial area be <br />called "Industrial Drive" but this name be preceded by the name of the company <br />first to located on that particular street. <br /> Councilman Reid suggested that the street be named "Commerce Drive" in com- <br />meration of the Industrial Committee of the Chamber of Commerce. <br /> It was moved by Councilman Beratlis and seconded by Councilman Rega that <br />Resolution No. 69-26, naming the frontage road serving the Reynold C. Johnson <br />Volkswagon Center, Johnson Industrial Drive, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Beretlie, Rega, Reid, Spiliotopoulos and Mayor Gerton <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />REPORTS OF THE CITY M~NAGER <br />Revision of Certain 0n-Str~et Parkin~ Areasl Central. Business District <br /> It was moved by Councilman Spiliotopoulos and seconded by Mayor Gerton that <br />the report on the Revision of Certain On-Street Parking Areas; Central Business <br />District, be referred to the Central Business District Committee for review and <br />comments and be discussed by the City Council on February 17, 1969. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Beretlie, Rega, Reid, Spiliotopoulos and Mayor Getton <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />Proposed Agreement for Crossin~ Protection o~_Ray S~treet Crossing of Southern <br />Pacific Railroad <br /> Mr. Campbell reviewed his report regarding this item and the City Attorney <br />explained paragraph 6 of the agreement. <br /> It was moved by Councilman Spiliotopoulos and seconded by Councilman Beretlie <br />that Resolution No. 69-27, authorizing the City officers to execute the agreement <br />with the Southern Pacific Company for crossing protection on the Ray Street Cros- <br />sing, conditional upon allocation of Public Utilities Commission funds, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Beretlie, Rega, Reid, Spiliotopoulos and Mayor Getton <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />Matters for the Information of the Council <br />Mr. Fales announced that a hearing has been scheduled by the California State <br />Legislature Assembly Transportation Committee at 9:30 A.M., February 18, 1969, in <br />Room 2170 of the State Capitol, Sacramento, on the following subjects: <br /> 1) Fuel composition as a contributor to photochemical smog <br /> 2) Fuel volatility as a contributor to photochemical smog <br /> 3) The feasibility of using substitutes for lead additives as a means <br /> of reducing hydrocarbon emissions in automobiles and improving the <br /> operating characteristics of calalytic mufflers. <br /> <br />REPORTS OF THE CITY ATTORNEY <br /> There were no reports from the City Attorney. <br /> <br />COMMUNICATIONS <br /> Mr. Fales read Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District Resolution No. <br />40-68/69, which opposes annexation of the Tassajara Road area by the Valley Com- <br />munity Services District. Mr. Fales indicated he would file this communication. <br /> <br /> Mr. Fales also read a letter from Mr. Reginald R. Stuart, which enclosed a <br />petition signed by fourteen residents of Foothill Road, protesting the location <br />of the Six Flags Development on Foothill Road. Mr. Fales stated that this <br />correspondence will also be filed. <br /> <br />MATTERS INITIATED BY COUNCIL MEMBERS <br /> Mayor Getton initiated discussion regarding a study of the Valley Community <br /> Services District Sewage Treatment Plant to assure the City Council that the VCSD <br /> Plant can handle the effluent from the City of Pleasanton when the City pb. ases out <br /> its own Sewage Treatment Plant. <br /> 3. <br /> <br /> <br />
